I found myself surrounded by a funny circumstance the other day; I was chatting with a friend of mine in my business. He told me had a new recruit that he was going to bring into the business. What peaked my attention was that he really focused on his reps physical attributes, and he said she was “extremely hot”.
Not, she had a good head on her shoulders or her ability to market was great. This was funny to me because I’ve heard it several times prior to our conversation from other reps. The idea is if you’re a good looking female, you can acquire more team members based on your sexual appeal, more specifically when it’s a female to male process.
Now we all know that sex sells, but when it involves getting into business does it make that big of a difference in deciding on if you should change your life dramatically?
Quite possibly; when we examine the male mind, a number of tests result in men’s testosterone levels increasing when being around an attractive woman, ultimately leading to a bigger risk taker. Males want to exhibit dominant traits and show they’re attractive sexual beings even though the risk may be harmful to their survival. Examples of this come into play when a good looking woman serves a male in a restaurant; he is willing to tip more. When guys are at bars or clubs they’re far more likely to fight or spend a lot of money on drinks that go no where because they likely hood of sex is that much higher.
So looking back at the fact that a man will get into business with a woman because she’s attractive, I bet it won’t hurt 100% of the time, unless he’s gay. If anything it would help; ideas turn into amazing ideas when you happen to think the woman across from you reminds you of your favourite actress.
Aside from being great looking, either if you’re a male or female; I still firmly believe that a strong character can outweigh all those things and that looks and sexual appeal can only take you so far. We have people on this planet who aren’t blessed with looks per se have extreme talent in other areas. Ms Winfrey, Mr Wonder and Jennifer Hudson are examples of that thought.
I’m not horrible looking but I know that I can attract a ton of leads for my business using my mental characteristics and I can find that talent in others as well.
